Paralympic Pre Games Training Camp Guide
Twelve venues from across the region will be included in London 2012’s guide to potential training camps for Paralympic athletes. The Guide will be launched during the Beijing Games and will be sent to all National Olympic and Paralympic Committees.

East Midlands business wins major London 2012 contract
Aggregate Industries UK Ltd, which is headquartered in the region, has won the contract to supply aggregate materials for the Olympic Park. This will include all the sand, gravel and recycled concrete for the construction of the venues and infrastructure within the park. Work on the Olympic Stadium has already begun, three months ahead of schedule.

Current London 2012 Tender Opportunities
OJEU notices have been published for the design and construction of the Handball Arena, the White Water Canoe Centre at Broxbourne and the upgrade to facilities at the Eton Dorney rowing lake. Other contracts are for the provision of screening and searching facilities for the Olympic Park and the establishment of a logistics centre to control the flow of vehicles into the Olympic Park. London 2012 sponsor launches athlete support scheme
Lloyds TSB has launched a support scheme for up and coming athletes across the UK. The scheme will support 250 young athletes identified from local communities.

2010 Women’s Champions Trophy in Nottingham
Highfields Hockey Club has been chosen by England Hockey to host a major tournament in the build up to the 2012 Games. The Women’s Champions Trophy is an annual event and features six of the best women’s nations in the world.
