Spa Therapies Skills Development

With the help of £230,000 from the Rural Action Zone, the old hydrotherapy block in the basement of the Devonshire Royal Hospital has been refurbished to provide a fully operational world class Spa Therapies training facility at the University of Derby's Buxton campus, helping students gain an unparalleled insight into working in a top spa.
Training is being offered to both students and local businesses interested in capitalising on the facilities available. The centre uses a flexible approach to teaching, including specialist short courses that will be taught midweek, evenings or on Saturdays depending on the needs of the individual or business. These skills will include practical training, theory and management skills.

The project has been awarded £230,000 by DDEP.
