This is a project to define how the first phase of the Derwent Valley Mills (DVM) World Heritage Site (WHS) Economic Development Plan will be implemented. A key aim of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Economic Development Plan was the delivery of a step change in the economic performance of the World Heritage Site and its contribution to the sub-regional and regional economies. The Economic Plan is based on an ambitious but achievable vision set out below built around three overlapping roles:
- Its profile, reputation and potential;
- A growth zone for businesses; and
- A recognised national and international tourist destination
The project has been awarded £225,261 by DDEP.
