Derbyshire Adult Community Service ECO Centre

Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES) in partnership with the National Stone Centre (NSC) will build a new Eco-Centre to deliver education and training for sustainable development. The centre will be used to further develop the work of College of the Peak (CotP) and specialise in construction (including heritage and sustainable building skills), rural crafts, the arts and environment, and energy saving / renewable energy technologies. This will be a purpose-built training centre, constructed using sustainable methods, materials and technology, a living green roof, rainwater harvesting, ground source heat pump and solar panels that will provide an exemplar training facility within the region. The construction of the building will promote sustainability in its widest sense to trainees, partners, organisations, community groups and the wider general public.

The project has been awarded £250,000 by DDEP.
