The Advanced Technology Centre

With the help of DDEP funding, Derby College's new Advanced Technology Centre teaches start-of-the-art manufacturing techniques to engineering companies across the county. The teaching cell is the next stage of development in the College's Engineering Academy, which has now achieved the status as a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE). Technology available will allow a company to make a seamless transition from design to manufacture.

It provides SMEs with teaching modules in computer aided graphic design, co-ordinate measuring, CNC machining, and the philosophies of reverse engineering and rapid prototyping. Firms will be able to access one or a combination of modules for short practical spells in training, product/part analysis & verification, problem solving, manufacturing operations, and the awareness of new technology.
