Family Employment Initiative
This project employs advisors to visit hard to reach families and individuals in their homes who will help clients to address the difficulties experienced when seeking employment and deliver advice and guidance to enable beneficiaries to access employment opportunities at strategic employment sites.
Working in partnership with other key agencies engaged in the delivery of training programmes, child care, benefits advice and careers advice, the projects seeks to tackle worklessness among residents in the areas around the major coalfield regeneration site at Brook Park, Shirebrook, offer employment and training opportunities to local people and to contribute towards the regeneration of some of the most deprived former coalfield wards in the East Midlands. Job seekers will be assisted by professional advisers who will:
• Help to identify employment aspirations
• Help identify personal barriers to gaining employment
• Develop an individual 'into work' plan with the client
• Refer the client to local organisations who can offer appropriate advice, training and/or assistance. For the past 2 years West Nottinghamshire and Chesterfield Colleges have been involved with local employers at Shirebrook.
• Provide ongoing support throughout
