Staveley Town Basin
The phased development has seen the improvement of the basic infrastructure required to establish a new waterspace in Staveley to attract further investment in developing economic and community enterprises along the Chesterfield Canal. It is anticipated that the waterspace will provide a community facility and a tourism destination that will contribute to the growth of sustainable tourism. It is also anticipated that the space will provide a venue for business incubation and expansion. Schemes such as this recognise that the growth of the waterside economy (both here and at other sites) is vital to the long term future of the canal.
The project has been awarded £500,000 by DEP.
