Cromford Mill Creative Cluster - Phase One
DEP funding has assisted to develop detailed plans for a ''Creative Cluster'' managed workspace facility and World Heritage Site ''Visitor Gateway''. The grant has been used to fund the preliminary works for the proposed £2.5 million refurbishment of the largest of the surviving Grade I listed buildings at Sir Richard Arkwright's Cromford Mills near Matlock. The proposed development aims to provide exciting and informative gateway visitor centre for the 15 mile long Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and up to 40 managed workspace units for small businesses. Applications for funding are currently being appraised.
The project has been awarded £46,300 by DEP.
