The Peak District Cultural Trails

Taking into consideration the number of visitors attracted to the Peak District, the aim of the project is to encourage visitors already using the Peak District for short stays to increase the length of their stays and therefore contribute more revenue to the local economy. DDEP's Rural Action Zone has contributed £143,000 towards the overall £462,000 to the Peak District Cultural Trails project to develop, produce and promote ten themed cultural trails.

Themed guides on the trails have also been produced to assist visitors to the Peak District explore what the region has to offer. The guides are all linked with places to stay, eat and drink which can make "your" visit to the Peak District that bit more special and enjoyable.

The project started in July 2004 and has now reached completion with the last guide being released. For further information on the trails and the themed guides please visit http://www.peak-experience.org.uk/
