Extension - Redundant Rural Buildings Grant Scheme - Sub Region
This scheme provided assistance to encourage the owners of redundant buildings to convert them for business use, particularly workspace. The grant was open to a range of prospective applicants including owner-occupiers, limited companies, charities and co-operatives. One of the most successful projects has been the regeneration of the formerly redundant Cromford Station which has now been converted into business workspace. The Building has been so successful that it won two awards for the building at the 2009 Railway Heritage Trust Awards.
The project has been awarded £500,000 by DEP.
