Trails Triangle
For many years the Tissington and High Peak trails have been used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders as a safe, traffic free route on which to enjoy the Peak District. Now thanks to the Trails Triangle project there is a new 11 mile link trail between the two, connecting Tissington with Middleton Top, providing more route choices and also linking with the existing cycling circuit around Carsington Water.
The project has created 3 new off road sections to link existing country roads and provide safe crossing points for busy roads. The trail forms part of the National Cycle-Route Network.
In addition the project hopes to encourage cycle-based tourism in the area and to encourage people to visit local attractions such as Carsington Water and The Stone Centre as well as promoting local pubs, cafes and shops.
This project has been awarded £73,063 by DDEP
