Glossop Gasworks
The Gas Works renovation project has created much-needed office and retail space in Glossop. The Grade II listed property had been neglected for more than 30 years and was empty but for a couple of retail tenants. In March 2007, work commenced to transform the former gas works into a high quality office space. DDEP contributed £25,000 to the £200,000 renovation project, with the remaining funds provided by Heritage and Conservation funding.The project, which provides fully furnished managed workspace on an easy-in, easy-out basis, was completed in July 2007 - and within weeks, five businesses had moved in, and the centre was fully let.
