The South Derbyshire Partnership| is a group of people representing public services, local businesses, community groups and residents.

Its main role is to work together to help improve South Derbyshire, concentrating on the things local people have said are important for a better South Derbyshire. It is doing this through South Derbyshire's Sustainable Community Strategy.
 

The Swadlincote Chamber of Trade |helps to promote Swadlincote by seeking the involvement and opinions of the local business community. The Chamber acts as the voice of local businesses to promote the best interests of all types of business in South Derbyshire

Promote Melbourne| 'Promote Melbourne' has replaced the Melbourne Business Association and has taken on the running of the Christmas Shopping event.

The National Forest Company|, is responsible for creating The National Forest across 200 square miles of the Midlands. The Forest is creating a major new landscape for biodiversity, recreation and tourism, with the aim of increasing woodland cover from 6% to 33% (currently it is around 19%). The Forest’s creation supports rural diversification, regeneration of the former South Derbyshire coalfield and enhancement of urban areas through environmental improvements.

Key services provided include: advice and grants towards woodland creation, recreation, public access and biodiversity projects; advice on woodland management and the woodland economy; and help in promoting tourism businesses through the National Forest and Beyond visitor campaign.
