Innovation
Innovation is the successful development and introduction of new ideas.
The Regional Innovation Strategy and Action Plan sets out how we will use the knowledge, skills and creativity of organisations and individuals to build an innovation led economy. In order to deliver the Regional Innovation Strategy (RIS), four business-led innovation Networks (iNets) focused on regional industry and research strengths across four priority sectors have been developed. The sectors are:
- Healthcare and bio sciences,
- Food and Drink,
- Sustainable Construction and
- Transport Equipment
The DEP SRIP identifies innovation as a key priority and will work to support in particular the Food and Drink i-net as well as developing programmes of activity to support innovation within business.
