FUTURE JOBS FUND

An invitation to bid for the Future Jobs Fund (FJF) was launched after it was announced in the Budget. The FJF is a fund of around £1billion to support the creation of jobs for unemployed young people and some others who face particular challenges of long-term unemployment. Government Offices (GOs) will have a key role to play in the bidding process: helping partnerships or organisations frame their bids and also providing input to the assessment of bids.

The GOEM contact for advice and support about the bidding process is Geoff Millner in the Economy, Jobs and Skills team (0115 971 2657 and mailto:geoff.millner@goem.gsi.gov.uk).

The FJF bidding form and guidance sets out the focus of and timescales for accessing the fund. It is available on the DWP website at - http://www.dwp.gov.uk/campaigns/futurejobsfund/index.asp

Bidders are encouraged to enter into Local Employment Partnerships with Jobcentre Plus, so it is very important to ensure that you are working closely with JCP locally as well as with local authority and other partners.
