Infrastructure

The infrastructure of our economy - the land, its buildings, transport and communications - are its very foundation. To support growth and job creation, it is essential that businesses and their workforce have a modern and sustainable infrastructure.

We therefore encourage developments across Derbyshire that provide the environment to grow business and create jobs. We strive to ensure that developments are in keeping with the heritage and historical values of the county whilst protecting the key assets of our environment and culture.
Our priorities are to:

  • Identify and bring forward high quality, strategic employment sites to offer business and employment opportunities
  • Support investment to provide workspace to accommodate new and expanding businesses
  • Work with partners to develop the tourism infrastructure in the sub-region
  • Promote place shaping schemes to encourage inward investment

The support for economic activities coupled with investment in projects focused upon Workspace, Brownfield Land and the tourism infrastructure will all contribute to the wider development and improvement of the County.
