Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) 2007 - 2013 - Broadband fund has been launched
Rural Broadband (European Economic Recovery Plan)
emda is launching the Rural Broadband Fund, funded through the Rural Development Programme for England. This fund seeks to support the government's objective that Britain has the best superfast broadband network in Europe.
The funding can contribute towards developing innovative approaches that address existing gaps in rural broadband coverage. These approaches can include:
• Community broadband projects
• Projects that seek to upgrade existing infrastructure to exceed the proposed Universal Service Commitment speed of 2Mbit/s
• Projects that enable early deployment of next generation compatible solutions.

About the Opportunity:
The Chief Interpreter for London 2012 will ensure the successful provision of professional conference interpreting services for the Olympic and Paralympics Games. The Chief will both provide interpretation services him or herself, as well as select and manage a team of professional consecutive and simultaneous interpreters. These interpreters will provide services for press conferences and meetings organised before and during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Chief Interpreter will also assist with other important activities of the Language Services function including, but not limited to volunteer language assistant training, language skill evaluation, and selection of the simultaneous interpretation technical services provider.

The National Apprenticeship Service East Midlands is planning a summer tour to showcase the breadth and benefits of Apprenticeships to young people, parents and carers.
The tour will be visiting over 45 venues across the region this summer and if you'd like to get involved we'd love to hear from you - by working with our partners we can make the tour a real success by increasing awareness and take up of Apprenticeships.

Funding Available for Rural Heritage Projects - Closing date 31st October 2010
Rural Heritage funding is available through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE). The LEADER Approach is administered by the Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership and the Local Action Group.
At present under this Measure there is a total budget of £65,000 allocated.
