Active Derbyshire Summer Activities 2010


Bolsover Adventure Sports Festival
Have a family day out at the Bolsover Adventure Sports Festival which is taking place at the Pleasley Vale Outdoor Activity Centre on Sunday 18th July 2010.


There are a wide range of activities that you can enjoy and experience including abseiling, mountain biking, canoeing, archery, plus lots lots more.

There is still time to enter Race For Life
There is still time to enter this year's Race for Life events in Derbyshire, which are taking place in Chesterfield and Derby (Kedleston Hall).


Places are still available for the Chesterfield event on Sunday 11th July at 14.30 or there is a 5k and 10k event in Derby at Kedleston Hall on Sunday 18th July at 10.30.

Sign up for the first ever Jog Derbyshire 5k
The first ever Jog Derbyshire 5k is to be held at Shipley Country Park later this year.
The race will take place on Sunday, September 5, and is being organised by Jog Derbyshire which runs a network of community-based jogging groups for beginners around the county.
The 5k will be an ideal first race for anyone who is new to running, and is being supported by Tom Glick, Derby County president and chief executive.

Return to Sport
Two free Return to Rounders taster sessions are to be held this month as part of the Bolsover District Council Return to Sport Programme. The sessions will take place on Tuesday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 20 at Tibshelf Community School from 6.30pm until 7.30pm.
 

Anyone aged 16 or over is invited to come along and take part. For further information please contact Sarah Bingham on 01246 593066.

Josh Ginns Memorial Corporate Event  - August 7
Moorways Sports Centre, Derby

Derby Wheelblazers is organising a wheelchair basketball event in aid of the Josh Ginns Memorial. The event is open to everyone and is particularly aimed at organisations and businesses who can enter teams and take part in the fundraiser day, which will be a fun, team building day, and no previous experience is required.
