Beckside Care Farm Leader case study.
The project has enabled the business to expand and diversify through investment in basic services and a new building including a kitchen facility for cooking activities with care groups and local food artisans.
A warm, wheelchair accessible and dementia friendly indoor space and facilities have been provided. This project was to improve outdoor access for less able guests at Spingle barn. The gravel driveways have been replaced with suitable outdoor surfacing, improving access to the outdoor areas. An all-terrain rental buggy provides a way for less mobile guests to explore the local area, bike trails and cross-country tracks. The installation of a home charging unit for electric cars will encourage more customers with electric vehicles to visit and stay.
Without the project, the facilities would not be improved so the business would be unable to grow and diversify. No new jobs would not be created and the business may have had difficulties in sustaining the service in the long term.
