North Staffordshire Railway Company (1978) Ltd
North Staffordshire Railway Company (1978) Ltd, was formed in 1978, with the specific aim to reopen a stretch of railway line in the Churnet Valley.
This project is to create a station at Leek Brook, with a fully functional, exact replica of a 19th century wooden building incorporating an accessible toilet. Volunteers will carry out the fitting out and decorating of the building.
The station will give access for visitors to the Churnet Valley Heritage attraction. The scheme aims to increase expenditure into the local economy and providing 5 volunteering opportunities.
Without funding the project would not progress in the near future and could jeopardise the next phase of the railway scheme into Leek.
Total cost: £22,000.71
LEADER grant: £15,400.49
