Tideswell Community Players Leader case study.
Tideswell Community Players, a non-profit making voluntary organisation, have been performing in the village of Tideswell since 1930. In 2011 they had to vacate the building used for performances, which had a stage, as it was sold for housing. Since then the Players have performed in various rented locations either without a stage or using borrowed portable staging.
The funding to purchase 12 demountable carpeted stage modules totalling 24 sq metres has enabled greater performance flexibility, improved audience experience and the ability to organise more events in the village. The Players can also loan the staging to other village organisations at a minimal cost.
Without the project, the plans would be delayed and the Community Players would not have the flexibility to organise more performances and events.
