Ashford Artisan employment facility
Diversification has assisted the farmer in ensuring the farm has a mixed income to sustain the business and assist in maintaining and developing a viable business for future generations.
The grant provided support to convert an under used barn to erect 6 units to provide employment space for local fledgling and start-up businesses.
Rental income from the facility will help to sustain agriculture as the primary land use on the holding. An existing under used barn has been converted to industrial units to provide an economic benefit to the area.
The units are let to non-agricultural businesses. The units are of a suitable size for fledgling local businesses and have provided space for an expansion of a local brewery. Five have a floor area of 100 square metres and one of 150 square metres. However, the space is adaptable.
Leader grant £157,192.
