Bakewell Town and Community Trust
The grant enabled the installation of a catering standard kitchen adjacent to the Assembly Room as part of the first floor refurbishment programme of Bakewell Town Hall in line with the trust's business development plan.
The first floor function room (Assembly Room) is now suitable for events which require catering, for example dinners, luncheons and wedding receptions. These types of event would have been impossible with the previous limited facilities. The Assembly Room is now more versatile as a venue and the improved capability will increase both usage and revenue.
The trust became aware of the need for a town centre venue for additional types of event, for example funeral teas. Following research they are in negotiation with local caterers to facilitate these functions.
Due to the success of the room as function venue there have been requests for temporary bar facilities, and they are now converting an adjoining room to provide this permanent facility.
