Bonsall heritage project
The project was to restore, maintain and improve the heritage sites within Bonsall Parish, including the historic wells, market cross, fountain monument and war memorials.
Many of the sites have been neglected over the last decades and are in a state of disrepair or a danger to the public.
The project will help support the long term use of these monuments for the school and many village events.
Well dressing is a key highlight of the year for many Derbyshire villages, and often includes young and old alike in this traditional activity. Bonsall well dressing is the linchpin of the carnival week, with the well dressings taking place on the last Sunday in July.
Leader grant £3,412.35.
