Manifold Craft Barn and Learning Centre
The Manifold Craft Barn and Learning Centre will be dedicated to introducing and enhancing the creative and artistic skills of the local and wider community.
Learning the skills of ceramic arts in an enjoyable and informative manner will be at the heart of the venture. Redundant farm buildings have been totally regenerated with assistance from Leader grant funding to create a new business that is already capturing the imagination of the local artistic community.
Opening for business in spring 2013, the 'craft barn' will mainly specialise in short beginners' sessions for pottery clay-throwing and hand-building. These may be pre-booked, by organisations, schools, families or children's 'craft parties' and will also be available to the passing tourist trade. A gallery featuring the work of local artists will add interest for visitors and an outlet for the local creative community. In addition to this, a 'paint-a-plate or pot' area will target a younger age group.
The Leader grant has enabled the creation of business premises that the public will enjoy visiting for many years to come.
Leader grant £45,427.50.
