Pikehall Farm rural buildings

The traditional farm buildings at Pikehall Farm comprise 2 distinct barns. Hartington Creamery Ltd agreed to move into the converted barns and commence cheese production.

The area of building B extends to around 2,800 square feet will be used to produce local cheeses made to traditional recipes. This building will also contain offices and staff rest room. A second farm building will be converted for the production of soft brie type cheeses downstairs and the upper floor for running cheese making courses with attached toilet facilities and further office space.

The proposed project and request for grant aid specifically involves the following at Pikehall Farm. Conversion of approximately 2,200 square feet of traditional, redundant stone farm buildings into B2 use at Pikehall Farm, including re-roofing with blue slate or tiles and improvements to existing 2,800 square feet of traditional buildings previously occupied by the 8-Ball Paintwork tenant (external windows and doors, external drains, concreting to yard in front of the buildings and upgrading of water and electricity supplies).

Leader grant £62,750.06.
